A renovation of a mixed-use, steel framed building in Carbondale. We reimagined the dated, western-inspired exterior as a clean white box wrapped in a bold strip of orange. This color wraps into the interior of the building, guiding tenants up stairs to the office units on the second floor. Prominent building graphics mark the two light-industrial spaces on the ground level. On the north side of the building at the main stairway, the orange strip on the building becomes three-dimensional, extruding from the wall and dissolving through the use of a transparent plastic cladding which exposes the wall framing and new punched window openings beyond.
