With a starting point of providing a regional first net-zero all electric affordable housing set by the Town of

Telluride and Gunnison County, Sunnyside housing completed in 2022, creating a neighborhood-style mix of building scales and unit types. Our team was awarded the project due to our net-zero experience in the Roaring Fork Valley and design-build expertise. 

Working through the overall site and building design, we utilized high performing envelopes, triple pane windows, and efficient mechanical and lighting systems designed in conjunction with large roof PV areas to offset the home energy use on an annual basis. The project attained net zero while still also maintaining similar cost/square ft of recently built Telluride housing projects. We used a carbon accounting and reduction process to quantify and reduce the project’s total carbon footprint.
